It's a Boy! A Nursery Mood Board for Tanya's little guy

My friend Tanya is expecting a baby boy in early Jan 2015. Having recently decorated a nursery of my own, I offered my help to prepare a moodboard for the Nursery. After a quick chat, I learned that Tanya would like a calming nursery in neutral tones, similar to this. So, here's what I came up with: (Everything shown below is available for purchase online) Tanya'sNursery_MoodBoard

As cribs tend to be the most expensive item in a nursery (1st runner up would be a glider or rocking chair), I propose a DIY project for the changing table. Another IKEA hack, my friends! There's a genius online store called O'verlays that sells decorative fretwork kits to apply on IKEA furniture. There's a wide variety of options to choose from and you could even order custom designs. For this room, I recommend the Hemnes 8 drawer dresser, with perhaps an overlay like this or that. Paint the dresser to a warm grey or taupe, add some cool hardware, and your're done! You could even save more money by buying a pre-loved dresser on kijiji, for example, and then add the overlays to update the look.
