The powder room is finally done! It's been many months in the making, but there's nothing like hosting a party to kick your butt into gear and git 'er done.
Just a quick reminder of what it looked like before:
There was nothing nice about this powder room. Every square inch (including, no joke, the ceiling) was covered with tiles. GREEN slate tiles on the floor. A vanity that took up half the bathroom. A door swinging inwards that would bang against your legs when sitting on the toilet.
Pretty good upgrade, wouldn't you say? Here, look again:
Ok, but for real, yo, how amazing is the floor pattern??? (pats self on back)
I have to admit, I am SO proud of this bathroom. It turned out EXACTLY how I envisioned it, moreso than any other project I've done, down to the very last detail.
There were LOTS of DIYs in this project:
- The vanity: The base was made from scratch with galvanized steel plumbing pipes; designed by yours truly and built by Adam (thank you honey!!!)
- The "faux" shiplap walls
- The toilet paper holder, also made from the same pipe
- The neon pink pendants - another one of my forays into lighting!
- Last but not least, the flooring! I went through many pattern iterations before I landed on this one, that I think fits very well with the other elements in the bathroom
And, the best part? Because we did all the work ourselves, we managed to complete this entire reno in just under $2000!!
